COUNCIL

Parish Council

A parish council is a civil local authority found in England and is the lowest, or first, tier of local government.

Parish Council activities fall into three main categories: representing the local community, delivering services to meet local needs, and improving quality of life and community well being.

Every meeting is open to the public, who are encouraged to attend, except for those items where the Council formally resolves to exclude the public and press on the grounds that publicity would be prejudicial to the public interest. This would have to be due to the confidential nature of the business. This latter also applies to any sub-committee of the Parish Council.

Amenities

The Parish Council owns the village green and two sides of the road around the green (not being the road on Crockham Lane or Church Hill).

Additionally, the Parish Council rents land on Kays Lane to provide an allotment site for the community.  The site is managed by the Parish Council  If you are interested in renting an allotment plot, please contact the Clerk.

Councillors

The current Parish Council consists of 7 Councillors.  The next Parish Council elections will take place in May 2023.
